ABOUT US

At STEMHispano, we are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young Hispanic learners in our community. Our goal is to provide early access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) books to kickstart and expand their education in these subjects. We believe that every child deserves the chance to explore their curiosity and potential, and our organization is committed to making this happen. Our services include providing access to a wide range of STEM books, hosting educational events and workshops, and connecting students with mentors and role models in the STEM field. Join us in our mission to inspire and support the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators!

OUR FOUNDER

 Hola!  This is Charles Anstead

My research has uncovered that there's a scarcity of early learner books in STEM available for bi-lingual learners in my community. My mission is to make them available to as many as I can to drive interest and passion in STEM.

As a Hispanic student at DeBakey High School for Health Professions in Houston, Texas, I founded STEMHispano, a non-profit, to support Hispanic young learners in my community by giving students at Houston Independent School District (HISD) elementary schools early access to books focusing on STEM.  The intent is to expose them to these subjects early to help ignite their passion for STEM, much like myself.  As they read, my hope is that they will begin to feel comfortable with words like chemistry, physics, molarity, geometry, vectors and electrons. I believe a passion for STEM will lead many to become the engineers, doctors, and astronauts of tomorrow.

Adios!
